Major Australian billers that take BPAY

Last updated 9 Oct 2026. Each biller was checked against its own website on 9 Oct 2026.

A list of big-name energy retailers, water utilities, telcos, councils, state rego agencies, insurers and strata managers whose own websites list BPAY as a way to pay. Find the biller code on your bill: it can differ by account, state or product.

Card The Bill is an independent guide. We're not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Sniip, pay.com.au, B2Bpay or any biller named here. We may receive a referral reward from providers we link to. Fees apply and are shown by the provider before you pay.

How we built this list: we only include a biller if its own payment page listed BPAY when we checked on 9 Oct 2026, and each one links to that page. Being on this list doesn't mean the biller works with any particular payment service. Banks and lenders are listed separately because Sniip can't pay them.

Banks and credit cards

Sniip can't pay these. Sniip's terms list banking and financial institutions, pay-day lenders, and hiring and leasing as prohibited payments. That means car loans, home loans, personal loans and credit card repayments can't go through Sniip, even though these lenders have BPAY biller codes. They're listed here so you know which BPAY billers to leave out. Paying one credit card with another is also often treated as a cash advance, or not allowed.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find a biller's BPAY biller code?

On your bill, next to the BPAY logo, with your own customer reference number. Codes can differ by product, state or account and can change, so always use the details on your latest bill. Apart from the ATO's published code, we don't list biller codes here.

Can I pay these billers by credit card?

Many take cards directly, and since 1 October 2026 there's no surcharge on eftpos, Mastercard or Visa. If a biller doesn't take your card, a service such as Sniip can pay its BPAY details for a fee. The exceptions are banks, lenders and leasing companies, which Sniip's terms don't allow.

Can I pay my car loan or credit card through Sniip?

No. Sniip's terms list banking and financial institutions, pay-day lenders, and hiring and leasing as prohibited payments, so these repayments can't go through Sniip, even though the lenders have BPAY codes.

Why isn't my biller listed?

We only list a biller after confirming BPAY on its own website, and we only cover major billers. Your bill is the best guide: if it shows a BPAY logo with a biller code, it takes BPAY. Email hello@cardthebill.com.au to suggest a biller.
